15–20% of the bill before tax

    Hotels

$2–5 per day for housekeeping; $1–2 per bag for bellhop services

    Tours/Guides

$5–10 per person, or 10–20% for private/group tours

    Taxi/Rideshare

    Round up or tip 10–15%

  • Restrooms & Family Stops

Public restrooms are available at most city parks, visitor centers, and major downtown areas.

Roadside gas stations and large chain stores like Walmart and Publix also offer restroom access.

Many towns have family-friendly stops with changing stations, shaded picnic areas, and kid-friendly restrooms—look for these in our Family Loop itinerary!

  • Bus, Motorcoach & Car Rental Info

    Group Travel

Most South Georgia towns are bus and motorcoach friendly, with designated parking areas near town squares, museums, and large restaurants. Be sure to call ahead for group reservations.

    Driving Tips

Roads are well-maintained and traffic is light compared to major cities. Drive on the right-hand side and carry a valid international driver’s license if required.

In the U.S., dial 911 for any emergency—police, fire, or medical.

    For non-emergency needs:

CVS and Walgreens are common in most towns.

    Hospitals

Each city has at least one medical center or urgent care clinic.

Local visitor centers can provide maps, directions, and recommendations—just look for signage downtown or check listings in this guide.
