Music, Wellness & Slow Travel

Perfect for couples, mature travelers, wellness seekers, and those who crave calm, charm, and connection.

Sometimes the most unforgettable trips aren’t packed with activities—they’re paced with intention. In South Georgia, the pace is unhurried, the porches are wide, and the stories unfold like slow songs in the background.

The Southern Slowdown itinerary is designed for travelers looking to reset and recharge. It blends the region’s soulful music roots, wellness experiences, historic downtowns, and boutique stays into a two-day journey that invites visitors to breathe deeply, sip slowly, and linger a little longer.

Day 1

Statesboro to Thomasville

Morning: Statesboro, Georgia

Begin your day in Statesboro, where the pace is easy and the coffee is strong. Start with a cozy breakfast at Sugar Magnolia Coffeehouse, known for all-day breakfast and a delightful selection of danishes. It’s the perfect spot to get the day started.

After breakfast, take a relaxing walk through Downtown Statesboro, where murals and music history line the streets. Don’t miss the Blind Willie McTell statue, mural at Vandy’s BBQ, and the city hall exhibit dedicated to this blues legend. If your group is curious to dig deeper, the Georgia Southern Museum also offers exhibits that reflect the region’s natural and artistic history.

Late Morning Wellness Option:

For wellness-focused groups, schedule a gentle morning yoga session at the MindBody Center or plan a visit to Juve or The Drip Bar for a refreshing IV treatment or B12 shot to kickstart your travel day.

Lunch Stop

Head to
Tandoor & Tap on East Main Street, where global flavor meets Southern hospitality. This local gem serves authentic Indian cuisine alongside craft cocktails—perfect for lingering conversations and a leisurely meal.

Afternoon: Drive to Thomasville (approx. 2.5 hrs)

Wind your way southwest to
Thomasville, where your route may take you through pecan groves and rolling pine forests. It’s a drive best taken slow, with plenty of opportunity for conversation or a carefully curated playlist.

Arrive in Thomasville, and before you explore its perfectly preserved downtown, visit the Listening Place at Birdsong Nature Preserve, about 15 minutes outside of Thomasville, this historic nature center will quickly show you why it's appropriately named Birdsong. Once you arrive at the boutique downtown, make your first stop Rafa Natural  for organic skincare products that will keep travelers looking their best.

Evening: Wine Tasting

After settling in at the historic  Lapham-Patterson House, enjoy a wine tasting at  Farmer’s Daughter Vineyards + Tasting Room, which offers curated flights just steps from the brick-lined downtown streets.

Wrap up the evening with a nourishing and elevated meal at Liam’s, a locally loved spot that’s been owned and operated by the Foster family since 2002. The New American menu with European touches is developed from the freshest ingredients available each week. Don’t miss a visit to the in-house cheese shoppe, where you can explore a curated selection of artisanal cheeses, or pair your meal with an interesting wine or craft beer.

Prefer a dry finish to your day?  Kin Wine offers a curated selection of non-alcoholic wines and champagnes for those seeking a toast without the proof.

Day 2

Dublin Wellness & Music

Morning: Drive to Dublin (approx. 3 hrs from Thomasville)

Make your way to
Dublin, where wellness meets small-town charm. Start your morning with a stroll through Fairview Park Walking Trail or Stubbs Park, both offering peaceful, tree-lined paths perfect for light movement, meditation, or birdwatching.

For wellness-focused groups, schedule a session at Emerald Ease, where guests can enjoy massages or cupping. For a more modern wellness break, consider stopping by Salty Halo for a salt therapy or red light therapy session.

Lunch Stop

Head downtown for lunch at Company Supply, a local favorite that puts a fresh spin on Southern fare with Cajun influences and health-conscious options. With a bright, welcoming atmosphere and a seasonal menu, it’s a perfect fit for a relaxed midday meal. Plus, if the weather is nice, you can enjoy dining al fresco.

Afternoon: Music & Meditation

Spend your afternoon meditating in the quiet Jackson Plaza courtyard or surrounded by camellia bushes at Railroad Park—both great places to enjoy a vitamin-packed smoothie or acai bowl from Eden Nutrition.

Dublin’s downtown square often hosts live music, and local businesses like Saltwater Fishery's rooftop bar sometimes feature musical events, especially on weekends. Build in time for a relaxed afternoon coffee or cocktail while enjoying the slower pace of local rhythm and conversation.
